Oswestry Musical Theatre Company presents the most wonderful panto in Os — The Wizard of Oz.
Following Dorothy, Toto and a cast of well-loved characters, Adrian Barradell’s pantomime takes the story you know, and adds a generous sprinkle of comedy characters that all the family will love.
Performances will be at The Marches School Theatre, Morda Road, Oswestry from the 7th to 9th of December 2018:

Tickets are priced at £12.00 for adults or £8.00 for children. Family tickets are available at £36.00 for a family of four (two adults and two children). Additional group discounts are also available for groups of more than 10.

Come and audition to be in The Wizard of Oz pantomime with Oswestry Musical Theatre Company. Rehearsals will be on Monday and Thursday evenings starting in September, with performances running from 7th to 9th December.
There are many different parts available for different ages, genders and levels of confidence and experience. There will be a workshop to talk about characterisation and dialogue for all those interested in auditioning, on 9th August from 7–9.30pm at the Memorial Hall, Oswestry. Singing workshops will be held from 7–7.30pm on 13th and 16th August at Cornerstone Baptist church. Auditions for the very varied cast will then be held on 21st August between 7.30pm and 10pm at the Memorial Hall.
Oswestry Musical Theatre Company are planning a joint fundraising event with the Royal British Legion, to mark 100 years since WW1.
The concert will be on 2nd September 2018 at The Marches School, from 3–6pm (approximately).
We are looking for as many singers as possible to join the concert; current, past and non-members of OMTC are welcome. There will be some opportunities for Junior chorus members who are currently or have previously been OMTC members.
There will be both singing and acting opportunities.
The open evening for those interested in the concert will be held at Cornerstone Church, Oswestry SY11 2HJ, on 25th June at 7–8pm. The open evening is both for performers, and for volunteers who wish to help with the performance in other ways.
Rehearsals will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings throughout July and August. You will not be expected to attend all rehearsals but we do require a good commitment.
The Musical Director is Kate MacDonald, staging with Rebekah Plaisted, and pianist Helen. Phil Box is looking after everything regarding production and front-of-house.
Oswestry Musical Theatre Company has begun rehearsals for our upcoming show, Into The Woods. Stephen Sondheim’s acclaimed musical intertwines the plots of several well-known fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and actions.
The show will be performed on the evenings of 12th, 13th and 14th April, plus a matinee show on 14th April.
Following auditions, we have filled most of the roles with an amazing cast of returning members along with many new faces. Our first rehearsal was held on 5th February, where there was a read-through of the script with a lot of laughs in the process!
There are still a few parts to fill in this show:
Jack’s Mother: female, over 25, Soprano with chorus numbers and some solo singing.
Cinderella’s Stepmother: female, over 25, Mezzo-Soprano with chorus numbers and some solo singing.
Cinderella’s Father: male, over 25, some chorus singing but mostly spoken word.

Our limited run is from 19th -21st May 2016 at the Marches School and contains show stoppers from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago plus many more.

Oswestry Musical Theatre Company’s committee met earlier this week to make formal decisions on upcoming productions for 2016/17.
Rehearsals will start for a compilation show directed and produced by a collective creative team including John Thomkinson, Dani Box, and Dawn Jaffrey as musical director. The show will run from 19th May – 21st (3 X evening shows and a matinee performance on the Saturday)
There are a wide range of song with opportunities for solos, duets, chorus etc with songs from well-known musicals including;
The Lion King, The Wizard of Oz, The Phantom of the Opera, Annie, Chicago just to name a few!
Rehearsals start on 18th January in the Hall at the Marches School:
Children: 7pm – 8pm
Adults: 8pm – 9:30pm
The creative team will be able to provide more information and answer any questions for you then!

Rehearsals are well underway for Once Upon a Time a panto with a bit of a difference…
The daughter of Cinderella is about to marry the son of Snow White, banishing evil from Pantoland forever or so the ancient prophecy says. Naturally the baddies aren’t taking this lying down! Evelyn, the wickedest of wicked witches, spirits Princess Lottie and her two idiot helpers Nick and Nack away from the palace and drops them on the edge of Pantoland . Of course, the Prince with Jack his companion and Gertie the cook embark on a rescue mission, What lies in store for all of them?
We will be performing this 11th-13th December 2015 at Marches School Oswestry.
