There are still tickets available for Sleeping Beauty at our online box office http://omtc.ticketsource.co.uk/
Tickets will also be on sale very shortly in Christian’s jewellers on Bailey Street in Oswestry.
Tickets are £10 adults/£8 children, if buying online there is a small booking fee which will be clearly shown when you check out.
This promises to be a rip-roaring pantomime with the familiar Sleeping Beauty story, traditional pantomime silliness and music to keep you humming all night long.
The OMTC committee have agreed that for our Easter 2015 show, putting on a production of Oliver! would be a good option. It’s a popular show, and with relatively recent West End revivals, it is still fresh in many people’s minds.
As of now, we haven’t had a creative team (Director, Musical Director, Producer, etc) come forward and volunteer to do the show.
If you are interested in directing a show for the company, or you know someone who may be interested, please get in touch! If you have any questions, think you may be able to do one role but not know anyone who can do the others, please get in touch and we will see what we can do.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org, or come along to a panto rehearsal (usually Mondays and Thursdays, 7:30-10pm in the main hall of the Marches School, Morda Road, Oswestry, SY11 2AR).
I’ve been asked to post a link that was taken at the Oswestry Fun Day - from Friday 29th August along with the Oswestry farmer’s market.
The video can be found on the OMTC Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/oswestrymusicals/ - join the group to keep up to date with our activities there.
Well done to all involved with the day – working tirelessly despite the weather to give a day of fun to the community, while promoting the company and raising some money!
A quick note - Sleeping Beauty auditions will be taking place on the 30th June. If you’re interested in auditioning for a part, please ensure you’ve filled in and given an audition slip to Sue at the next rehearsal (which is Monday evening, 8pm for adults).
If you need any more information, please comment here, or email email@example.com.
Rehearsals are starting on Monday the 2nd of June (7.30-10.00pm in room C6 at The Marches School) for our next production – Sleeping beauty. This will be performed in early December 2014 (I think it’s the weekend of the 5th, 6th and 7th of December but I don’t have my notes handy). If you’re interested in taking part – whether young, old, a singer, an actor, if you’ve never been on stage, if you’ve been on stage since you were 4! We welcome anyone (but especially younger men!) – check the event on our Facebook page for details!
If you don’t fancy being on stage but can spare some time to help out with more practical things, we always need help before the show with designing, making, painting, setting up, tearing down, and moving things around. If you or anyone you know can do any of that before or during the show, let us know here or email firstname.lastname@example.org!
If you’re good with people, please consider helping our front of house team on the performance nights. Helping customers, working on the bar, selling tickets, programs, raffle tickets & generally being the face of the company. If you’re interested, let us know here or email email@example.com.
Hi to all members!
Now that the show is over, the next date for your diary: 19th May is booked as the date for the AGM. 7.30pm at the Marches. We have a lot to discuss with you all and want as many of you to be involved as possible.
Be there or be square, and don’t have a say in the future of the company.
All members are invited. Junior members welcome to come and participate, but unfortunately won’t be able to vote on any proposals.
[Edited - Not March! MAY!]
Tickets for all performances of South Pacific are now available from Christian’s the Jewellers on Bailey Street.

Oswestry Musical Theatre Company are proud to present their April 2014 show – South Pacific.
This Rogers and Hammerstein classic is packed full of well-known and popular songs, including:
- Some Enchanted Evening
- Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair
- Nothing Like a Dame
- Happy Talk
This tale of racial relations based on an island somewhere in the South Pacific, tells the story of Nellie, an American nurse who falls in love with a Frenchman, Emile, a plantation owner with a history that she may not want to know about. Along the way we learn about US Navy secret missions, see a Thanksgiving show (army style) and witness a young soldier fall in love with a young Tonkinese girl.
The show will be on at the Marches School, Oswestry from April 22nd – 26th, with performances starting at 7:30pm. Tickets will be available from Christian’s the jewelers on Bailey Street in central Oswestry (though aren’t on sale yet!).
The coming weekend, the 12th and 13th of October, there shall be a workshop on Saturday from 2pm to roughly 6pm, to go through the music and prepare for auditions.
Then on Sunday we shall be holding auditions. The exact times of auditions for each part will be announced on Saturday.
Attendance at the workshop isn’t mandatory but should give you a clearer understanding of what’s expected from your part.
If you’d like to audition for a part but can’t or don’t want to attend the workshop, please let one of the directors know (Mark Lord, Janet Williams, Rob Sharp or Chris Smith), or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will pass the message along.
Apologies for the short notice.
The usual rehearsal for Thursday, 10th October is cancelled. There will be no rehearsal on Thursday.
The next rehearsal for Dick Whittington shall be on Monday 14th Oct.
